Research Project Calculator

SCSU library facilitates us, SCSU students with a research project calculator. To get into this calculator one can either create an account or get started right away by creating as assignment from the given templates. To create an assignment one has to provide the assignment title, set a starting date and the ending day. Then the student can choose from one of the assignment templates.

To create a research project there are 8 major steps that needs to be completed. The first step is to understand the research project and select the topic. This step instructs us to learn about the early stages of the research process and brainstorm topics and conduct preliminary research to gather background information. The second step is “Find and select the articles, books and websites”. This step guides us to keep careful notes and search for scholarly journals, websites and library catalog for books and other media. The third step is to conduct background information. This step advises us to explore the topic and access resources through the library webpage. The fourth step instructs us to focus on the topic and write a thesis statement. The fifth step is to critically read and evaluate the resources whereas the sixth step instructs us to develop structure, organize sections and write the first draft. The step seven involves revising and incorporating research content and citing sources. The last step is proof reading, obtaining feedback and finalizing paper and bibliography.
